Weekly Activities 

October 12 - We Aren't Strangers - Trip to the Cornmaze

We will meet at the Canterbury parking lot at 6:00pm and travel together to At’l Do Farms between Lubbock and Shallowater. At’l Do Farms is a local farm which provides a number of activities, including a corn maze, a hay ride, a petting zoo, and acorn gun. Canterbury will pay for active Canterbury members’ entrance fees and dinner on the way.

October 14 - Kansas State Vs. Texas Tech Football Parking Fundraiser

Time: 3pm. Today, we will be selling parking for the football game. The people who are signed up are Leann, Kayla, Dann, and Jarrett.  We still need at least two more people to sign up. Text the chaplain if you are free to help. 

 

October 15 - The Journey: Exploring Spirituality, Theology, Ethics, Justice, and Mission

Join us for The Journey at 4:00pm on Sunday at Canterbury Episcopal Campus Ministry at Texas Tech.  This semester, we will be studying the Gospel of John.  If you are interested in asking serious questions about your faith, come and join us!

October 15 - Pride Mass and Community Meal

Join us for our annual pride mass at 6pm at Canterbury Episcopal Campus Ministry at Texas Tech.  During this event, we will celebrate out LGBTQIA+ students, faculty, staff, and leadership.  

Following the service, we will share a home cooked meal served by the wonderful Episcopalians from St. Paul's, St. Stephen's, St. Christopher's, and St. Luke's.  We look forward to worshipping with you!

Confirmation Classes - Would you like to learn more about your faith, or would you like to join the Episcopal Church?  Our confirmation classes might be the right thing for you.  If you are interested in attending a confirmation classes, let the chaplain know.  You can call or text 575-631-5345.

Serve at the Altar - Would you like to serve at the altar or help to read during the service? Catch the chaplain after the service on Sunday to ask for training times or text at 575-631-5345.

Outreach to the Homeless and Working Poor in Lubbock - Would you like to minister to the homeless and working poor in Lubbock, TX? If so, talk to the chaplain about getting on a team for St. Benedict's chapel and soup kitchen.  To learn more about St. Benedict's, click here.

Interested in a Key to the Building? -  Canterbury policy states that active members of Canterbury who have attended consistently for at least one month may obtain a key from the chaplain.  If you are interested, call or text the chaplain at 575-631-5345.

Do You Need Help?  The Canterbury chaplain has a small discretionary fund to help students with food, living necessities, or emergencies.  If you need help for any reason, please contact the chaplain at 575-631-5345.
