Sunday Services
Join us for worship at 6pm on Sunday at Canterbury Episcopal Campus Ministry at Texas Tech. We will worship together, and then we will share a home cooked meal served by the wonderful Episcopalians from St. Paul's, St. Stephen's, and St. Christopher's. We look forward to worshipping with you! The first service of the semester will be on August 28 at 6pm.
Starbuck's Office Hours
Join the chaplain and other Canterbury students every Thursday afternoon from 1pm-3pm at the Starbucks on Mac Davis Ln. across from campus. We will hang out, talk about our faith, do homework, and drink some coffee. Coffee is free, so come hang out anytime.
Free Speech Area Events
Canterbury will be in the Free Speech Area on campus from 1pm-3pm on select days throughout the semester. If you would like to come say hello, check out our schedule on our website.
Football Parking Fundraisers
One of the ways that Canterbury supports our ministry is through a variety of fundraisers each year. Please sign up for these fundraisers so that we can have funds to go on trips and do fun things. To sign up to help, place your name on the sign-up sheet in the bulletin board at Canterbury House. These are the dates of the fundraisers: September 3, September 10, September 24, October 22, October 29, November 12, and November 26. We will meet at Canterbury two hours before kick-off and will finish up just after kick-off. You will still have plenty of time to go to the game.
Canterbury Gardening Group
This summer, Canterbury planted a garden! We planted several tomato, pepper, herb, bean, and cucumber plants. If you are interested in helping the gardening group, please contact Hana 806-281-2959. We tend the garden at 6pm every Thursday. Feel free to show up and help any time.
We Aren't Strangers
Join us on select Thursday nights throughout the semester at 7pm for a small meal and for a safe place to find community and belonging. It will be a time for connection, belonging, sharing our stories, expressing our emotions, and the great thing about this event will be that it is open to all people. This is a space where all people can be fed physically, emotionally, and spiritually while at the same time honoring everyone’s faith traditions and gifts and light that we all bring to this community. And we promise that we will not try to convert you or change you. That is not the way we do things here. All we want to do is to know you, love, and support you as a student here at Texas Tech. 'Our conversation will be participant lead and all people who attend have a space to teach us about their gifts, interests, passions, faith, philosophy, life, and journey. Come a join us! We meet at Canterbury House at 2407 16th Street, just one block from campus. Dates: September 1, September 8, October 6, October 20, and November 10.

Other Announcements
Confirmation Classes - Would you like to learn more about your faith, or would you like to join the Episcopal Church? Our confirmation classes might be the right thing for you. If you are interested in attending a confirmation classes, let the chaplain know. You can call or text 575-631-5345.
Serve at the Altar - Would you like to serve at the altar or help to read during the service? Catch the chaplain after the service on Sunday to ask for training times or text at 575-631-5345.
Would You Like to Attend Diocesan Convention? - Canterbury has been invited to attend Diocesan Convention on October 6-7. Convention will take place on the campus of Texas Tech. The Bishop has agreed to pay for Canterbury students' fees if the students will help to work convention. Convention will include a Eucharist, a business meeting, and a dinner/dance. All your meals will be paid for. If you are interested in attending convention, please let the chaplain know.
Outreach to the Homeless and Working Poor in Lubbock - Would you like to minister to the homeless and working poor in Lubbock, TX? If so, talk to the chaplain about getting on a team for St. Benedict's chapel and soup kitchen. To learn more about St. Benedict's, click here.

Interested in a Key to the Building? - Canterbury policy states that active members of Canterbury who have attended consistently for at least one month may obtain a key from the chaplain. If you are interested, call or text the chaplain at 575-631-5345.
Do You Need Help? The Canterbury chaplain has a small discretionary fund to help students with food, living necessities, or emergencies. If you need help for any reason, please contact the chaplain at 575-631-5345.
