Weekly Activities
Tuesday-Thursday - Free Lunches
Come by Canterbury between 11:30am and 1pm (Tuesday-Thursday) for a simple and quick homemade lunch. The meals will be made to eat at Canterbury or to go.
September 7 - We Aren't Strangers - Cooking Class
Join us at Canterbury at 6pm for dinner and "The Basics of Cooking" class. Tonight, we will learn how to read a recipe, measure ingredients, pick out meats, add spices, and eat our creations. We are planning on fixing fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, steamed broccoli, and a side salad.
What is We Aren't Strangers? It will be a time for connection, belonging, sharing our stories, expressing our emotions, and the great thing about this event will be that it is open to all people. This is a space where all people can be fed physically, emotionally, and spiritually while at the same time honoring everyone’s faith traditions and gifts and light that we all bring to this community. And we promise that we will not try to convert you or change you. That is not the way we do things here. All we want to do is to know you, love, and support you as a student here at Texas Tech.
September 9- Help Make Prayer Beads
Come to Canterbury at 11am to help make prayer beads for convention, watch a movie, and eat pizza. Leann will teach you how to make the beads and she has all the supplies, so all you need to do is just show up.
September 9- Football Parking Fundraiser
Today, we will be selling parking for the football game. We will meet at Canterbury two hours before kick-off and will finish up just after kick-off. You will still have plenty of time to go to the game. If you are helping, please make sure to prepare for the weather. Hot days can be really hot, so make sure to bring a hat, sun screen, water, and cool clothes. Time: 3:30pm.
One of the ways that Canterbury supports our ministry is through a variety of fundraisers each year. Please sign up for these fundraisers so that we can have funds to go on trips and do fun things. If you have already signed up to help, please make sure to be there this Saturday. We also need at least two other people to help. Please consider joining us.
September 10- The Journey: Exploring Spirituality, Theology, Ethics, Justice, and Mission
Join us for The Journey at 4:00pm on Sunday at Canterbury Episcopal Campus Ministry at Texas Tech. This semester, we will be studying the Gospel of John. If you are interested in asking serious questions about your faith, come and join us!
September 10 - Sunday Service and Meal
Join us for worship at 6pm at Canterbury Episcopal Campus Ministry at Texas Tech. Following the service, we will share in a community meal prepared by the wonderful Episcopalians from St. Christopher's.
