Weekly Activities

March 2 - Starbuck's Office Hours

Join the chaplain and other Canterbury students this Thursday from 2pm-3pm at the Starbucks on Mac Davis Ln. across from campus. We will hang out, talk about our faith, do homework, and drink some coffee. Coffee is free, so come hang out anytime.

March 3 - First Friday Art Trail

Go to First Friday Art Trail with us at 5:30pm. We will carpool to First Friday from Canterbury at 5:30pm. Canterbury will cover the cost of your meal. What is First Friday Art Trail? First Friday Art Trail is a free, self-guided public art happening that has taken Lubbock to the forefront of the Texas art scene. Held predominately in the Lubbock Cultural District, this event brings together collectors, artists and community friends for an evening of art, music and fun. Featuring a variety of art centers, museums, galleries and businesses, First Friday Art Trail offers an ever-changing array of art exhibits in all media. March 5 - Sunday Worship Service (Bishop's Visitation, Confirmations, Baptisms, Receptions, and Reaffirmations)

Join us for worship at 6pm on Sunday at Canterbury Episcopal Campus Ministry at Texas Tech. Today, Bishop Scott Mayer will be with us, and we will have three people confirmed, one baptized, one received, and one reaffirmed. We will worship together, and then we will share a home cooked meal served by the Diocese of Northwest Texas. We look forward to worshipping with you!

May 4 at 10pm - Midnight Breakfast for Finals

May 7 at 6pm - Last Worship Service of the Semester and Recognition of Graduates

Confirmation Classes - Would you like to learn more about your faith, or would you like to join the Episcopal Church? Our confirmation classes might be the right thing for you. If you are interested in attending a confirmation classes, let the chaplain know. You can call or text 575-631-5345.

Serve at the Altar - Would you like to serve at the altar or help to read during the service? Catch the chaplain after the service on Sunday to ask for training times or text at 575-631-5345.

Outreach to the Homeless and Working Poor in Lubbock - Would you like to minister to the homeless and working poor in Lubbock, TX? If so, talk to the chaplain about getting on a team for St. Benedict's chapel and soup kitchen. To learn more about St. Benedict's, click here.

Interested in a Key to the Building? - Canterbury policy states that active members of Canterbury who have attended consistently for at least one month may obtain a key from the chaplain. If you are interested, call or text the chaplain at 575-631-5345.

Do You Need Help? The Canterbury chaplain has a small discretionary fund to help students with food, living necessities, or emergencies. If you need help for any reason, please contact the chaplain at 575-631-5345.
