This Week's Activities

December 1 - Help Decorate the Building for Christmas

Join us at 7pm on Thursday, December 1 as we decorate Canterbury for Christmas. We will serve pizza and listen to Christmas music too!

December 4 - Confirmation Class

Our last Confirmation Class will take place at 4:30pm on Sunday. We meet in the chaplain's office. Come and join us!

December 4 - Lessons and Carols and Christmas Party

Join us at Canterbury for our Advent services of Lessons and Carols at 6pm, followed by a homecooked meal made by the wonderful Episcopal Churches in Lubbock. During the service of Lessons and Carols, scriptural readings are interspersed with advent hymn, all of which recall humanity's longing for liberation from sin and death, and our hope and expectation for the both the first and second coming of Christ the Lord.

Following the service and meal, Canterbury will celebrate the end of the year and the coming of Christmas. We will do a white elephant gift exchange during the party. Come prepared to drink hot coco, sing carols, and celebrate the end of year. If you have a white elephant gift that you would like to add to the mix, please bring the gift (unwrapped) before 3pm on Sunday.

Outreach to the Homeless and Working Poor in Lubbock - Would you like to minister to the homeless and working poor in Lubbock, TX? If so, talk to the chaplain about getting on a team for St. Benedict's chapel and soup kitchen. To learn more about St. Benedict's, click here.

Interested in a Key to the Building? - Canterbury policy states that active members of Canterbury who have attended consistently for at least one month may obtain a key from the chaplain. If you are interested, call or text the chaplain at 575-631-5345.

Do You Need Help? The Canterbury chaplain has a small discretionary fund to help students with food, living necessities, or emergencies. If you need help for any reason, please contact the chaplain at 575-631-5345.
