This Week's Activities

October 20 - Starbuck's Office Hours

Join the chaplain and other Canterbury students this Thursday afternoon from 1pm-3pm at the Starbucks on Mac Davis Ln. across from campus. We will hang out, talk about our faith, do homework, and drink some coffee. Coffee is free, so come hang out anytime during the afternoon.

October 20 - Movie Night

We Aren't Strangers is hosting a Movie Night this week at 7pm on Thursday. Join us as we watch Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, drink Butter Beer, and eat pizza and cheese cake. We will meet at Canterbury House. Come and join us!

October 21 - Trip to the Cornmaze

We will meet at the Canterbury parking lot at 5:00pm and travel together to At’l Do Farms between Lubbock and Shallowater. At’l Do Farms is a local farm which provides a number of activities, including a corn maze, a hay ride, a petting zoo, and acorn gun. Canterbury will pay for active Canterbury members’ entrance fees and dinner on the way.

October 23 - Confirmation Class

Are you interested in learning more about the Episcopal Church or are you interested in joining the Episcopal Church? If you are, join us on Sunday afternoons at 4:30pm for the next four weeks. We will talk about the history of the Episcopal Church, our way of worship, our beliefs, and our call to be Christians who walk the way of love in the world. We meet upstairs at Canterbury. Come and join us!

October 23 - Pride Mass

Join us for our annual Pride Mass at 6pm as we celebrate LGBTQIA History Month. The service will be celebrated by Father Rick Lopez from Odessa, Texas, and our preacher will be McKenan Bundy, a longtime member of Canterbury. You will not want to miss this event! Following the service, we will share a home cooked meal served by the wonderful Episcopalians from St. Stephen's. We look forward to worshipping with you!

Outreach to the Homeless and Working Poor in Lubbock - Would you like to minister to the homeless and working poor in Lubbock, TX? If so, talk to the chaplain about getting on a team for St. Benedict's chapel and soup kitchen. To learn more about St. Benedict's, click here.

Interested in a Key to the Building? - Canterbury policy states that active members of Canterbury who have attended consistently for at least one month may obtain a key from the chaplain. If you are interested, call or text the chaplain at 575-631-5345.

Do You Need Help? The Canterbury chaplain has a small discretionary fund to help students with food, living necessities, or emergencies. If you need help for any reason, please contact the chaplain at 575-631-5345.
