 Bible Study on Romans - Come and join us for an in-depth study of Paul's Epistle to the Romans. The study will take place upstairs at Canterbury at 5pm on Fridays.  For more information about our Bible study, click here.

Football Fundraiser: TTU v. Iowa State - One of the ways that Canterbury supports our ministry is through a variety of fundraisers each year. Please sign up for these fundraisers so that we can have funds to go on trips and do fun things. Today, we will be selling parking for the football game. We will meet at Canterbury two hours before kick-off and will finish up just after kick-off. You will still have plenty of time to go to the game. If you are helping, please make sure to prepare for the weather. Hot days can be really hot, so make sure to bring a hat, sun screen, water, and cool clothes. On cold days, make sure to bring jacket and arrive early so that you can make some hot chocolate, tea, or coffee to keep you warm. Time: Noon.

Taizé Contemplative Prayer Service - 6pm - Join us for a Taizé  Contemplative Prayer Service at 6pm at Canterbury Episcopal Campus Ministry at Texas Tech.  We will share a home cooked meal following.  We look forward to worshipping with you!  Taizé Prayer is a simple, meditative form of worship, calling us to dwell deeply on Christ's presence around and within us. Mantra songs (like "Jesus, Remember Me"), prayerful silence, and short readings guide the focus of the prayer in a candle-lit environment.  Dinner will be served following the service.

Creation Care Conversations - November 18 at 8:30 am - Would you like to be invovled in converstaions on creation care in our diocese? If so, join the conversation.  The initial meeting has been scheduled as a Zoom meeting, Thursday morning, November 18, at 8:30am.  If you are interested in attending this meeting, click HERE to register and to gain access to the Zoom meeting link.  Our aim for that meeting will be to set some goals, figure out ongoing logistics, and how we can support each other. It would be wonderful to have at least one representative from each congregation that wants to be involved.

Thanksgiving Eucharist and Meal - November 21- Eucharist will be at 6pm, and our meal will follow at 7pm. Canterbury will providing most of the fixings.  If you are able, please bring a side or dessert to share.   Following the meal, we will decorate the building for Advent.

First Sunday of Advent - November 28 - Join us for the first Sunday of the Season of Advent.  Eucharist is at 6pm.  Following the Eucharist, we will share a homecooked meal served by the wonderful Episcopalians from St. Paul's.

Study Break - December 2 - Study for your finals from 9am to 9pm on Thursday, December 2 at Canterbury.  We will provide a quiet place for you to study, and we will serve pizza for lunch at 12:30pm.  

Lessons and Carols and Christmas Party - December 5  - Today, we celebrate the coming of Christmas with our Advent Lessons and Carols service. During the service,scriptural readings are interspersed with choral presentations and hymn, all ofwhich recall mankind’s longing for liberation from sin and death, and our hopeand expectation for the both the first and second coming of Christ the Lord. Following the service,Canterbury will celebrate the end of the year and the coming of Christmas. We will do a white elephant gift exchange during the party, along with festive treats and games. We will also honor our graduates today as well.

Confirmation Classes - Would you like to learn more about your faith, or would you like to join the Episcopal Church?  Our confirmation classes might be the right thing for you.  If you are interested in attending a confirmation classes, let the chaplain know.  You can call or text 575-631-5345.

Serve at the Altar - Would you like to serve at the altar or help to read during the service? Catch the chaplain after the service on Sunday to ask for training times or text at 575-631-5345.

Outreach to the Homeless and Working Poor in Lubbock - Would you like to minister to the homeless and working poor in Lubbock, TX? If so, talk to the chaplain about getting on a team for St. Benedict's chapel and soup kitchen.  To learn more about St. Benedict's, click here.
